Insulation

horse panama city Hauling insulation in the horse trailer.

We had a fun little jaunt down to Panama City today to pick up a load of insulation. On the way we got to stop at the dentist (good news though, no big dental work required!), and since it was a beautiful day (though chilly) we had a nice time on the road. Here he is - with the trailer mostly loaded - Pretty creative use of a horse trailer, don’cha think!

Video Presentation

horse cowboy hat display Click through for the cowboy hat video from Canada.

In regard to my direct jackassery, I would like to present a video that you can all feel free to make fun of: White people clapping on 1 & 3; Fat hillbillies lipsynching the words with their ugly kids; COWBOY HATS; a general consensus of retardery. Sorry folks. Here is some Country Music:

I Love A Good Meme

cowboy boot plate From a list of memes, the time this blogger felt most out of place.

…was at a party where everyone did a hoedown in their cowboy boots, and I wasn’t wearing cowboy boots.

Southern Celebrations

horse kentucky derby race The Kentucky Derby may be more important than the SuperBowl in the South.

While many across the nation had huge tailgate parties for Super Bowl Sunday, those of us in the southern region of the US might also be planning Kentucky Derby parties where we’ll have the aforementioned foods as well as tall, cold drinks, appetizers, and just general fun finger foods. In fact, there are probably some who are already sending out Kentucky Derby party invitations, listing the activities and the foods that will be served!

Do I Go To rodeoHOUSTON?

horse houston rodeo Is there any question about going to rodeoHOUSTON?

My sister has invited me to the upcoming rodeoHOUSTON in March next year. She lives in Tennessee and proposes that we take a road trip down to Texas. She is still waiting for my confirmation before getting hold of a couple of Houston Rodeo concert tickets. She told me to hurry as she has to book them early. These tickets go like hot cakes and once sold out, it will be very difficult to get hold of any and we may have to wait for 2009. That is a long way off. Too long.

Football And..... Football.... And Rodeo

horse rodeo houston billboard Just need a winning lottery ticket to go to the Houston Rodeo.

I’d love to go to an event like the Houston Rodeo! The boys and I would totally get into the bull-riding and everyone else would enjoy the music and rides. Looking at last year’s Houston Rodeo Tickets schedule, I see that some of Country’s favorite acts played. If we win the lottery, maybe I can get Houston Rodeo concert tickets for all of us for next year’s she-bang.

Never Fall in Love With a Horse

horses preakness barbaro The sad story of Barbaro's race at the Preakness.

Unfortunately, America didn’t know the rule, and last spring, we fell in love with a horse called Barbaro. But we weren’t the first to fall. This extraordinary article in Vanity Fair recounts Barbaro’s story from the inside — through the eyes of the owners, trainers, doctors and jockeys who helped hone him into a Kentucky Derby champion, and then tried to save his life after his devastating injury at the Preakness.
