Happy Halloween!
Cowboy boots are part of many Halloween costumes.
We had a Halloween party at work today. The theme was “The West” but you could dress up as anything you wanted. I wore jeans and a large cat cowboy shirt that my brother and sil gave me from Arizona. It’s a really cute shirt. It’s got three cute kitties on it and they are wearing cowboy hats and cowboy boots and on the back it shows there butts with their tail up in the air. So it was quite appropriate! LOL! It is very large on me which looked good too. I also had a cowboy hat.

When Does This Man Sleep?
The William Shatner Celebrity Horse Show gives money to great causes.
Think about the fact that Shatner is 75 years old, has had a highly successful career that has continued for over a half a century, is currently the lead star in one of the most successful television shows on the air (Boston Legal) - garnering him two back-to-back Emmy awards, can be seen in commercials hawking everything from hotel tickets to Satellite dishes, still is sought out by directors for movie roles, spends hundreds of hours every year working for a variety of charity organizations through his efforts with the William Shatner horse shows and paintball tournaments, appears at several Trek and Scifi conventions annually, a respected author, songwriter and most notably, a living legend having been the main star of a SF franchise that has lasted now over 40 years, with no signs of abating.

Lonesome Dove Western Bistro
Check out the Tomahawk Chop and the cowboy hats at the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in New York.
All of the chefs wear cowboy hats, including Love, who was in the house. Our server boasted that if we ordered the Tomahawk Chop, Love himself would personally carve it for us tableside. Someone carved it for us, but not Love. (We did see him carve a steak at one table, and share a glass of tequila with some friends at another.) I couldn’t care less who carves my steak, but servers shouldn’t be selling an audience with the Great Man unless he is in fact prepared to follow through. The server at our table didn’t even leave that gorgeous 18-inch bone behind for us to admire; at another table, they did.

NWSA Fall Classic Horse Show
Now for the benefit of those of you that don't go to Horse shows let me make you wish you did. The American Saddlebred horses, the Friesians, and the Hackney Ponies that compete in these shows are often fed and groomed better than their people that ride them. I'm just kidding about that part...But really these horses are cared for and fed some of the best nutritional foods and their health is constantly looked after and inoculations kept to date.

Horse Racing On The Internet
Funny how horse racing is still legal on the Internet.
You’ll notice that lotteries are still Congress-approved, and I don’t see a ban on internet gambling on horse races included. In fact, this bill would specifically exempt state-run (online) lotteries and horse racing. How much did the horse-racing lobby pony up (no pun intended), I wonder?

Trojan Horse
From a travelblog on Troy, the Trojan Horse.
Oh - and about that horse. There is a wooden horse at Troy, just for fun. You can climb up in it and have your photograph taken looking out from one of the windows in the horse’s body. It has a small house sitting on top of the horse’s back, with more windows. It seems unlikely that anything with windows could have disguised the fact that people were hidden inside; yet, interestingly, even an ancient Greek depiction of the Trojan horse shows it having windows.

Police Horse Trailer
Click through for the police horse trailer pic.
Finally, there were the oddball cars. So funny, weird or unusual that they warranted including here. The Gumball 3000 is "an eight-day, 3000-mile drive across three continents with a goal of uniting nations through a common passion for music, fashion, film and the motorcar". We saw a Range Rover decorated in full Gumball livery as if it had been a support vehicle. The Rolls was hysterical – the ultimate utility vehicle if you live in Kensington. And the warning on the police horse trailer really says it all.
