Do I Go To rodeoHOUSTON?

horse houston rodeo Is there any question about going to rodeoHOUSTON?

My sister has invited me to the upcoming rodeoHOUSTON in March next year. She lives in Tennessee and proposes that we take a road trip down to Texas. She is still waiting for my confirmation before getting hold of a couple of Houston Rodeo concert tickets. She told me to hurry as she has to book them early. These tickets go like hot cakes and once sold out, it will be very difficult to get hold of any and we may have to wait for 2009. That is a long way off. Too long.

Football And..... Football.... And Rodeo

horse rodeo houston billboard Just need a winning lottery ticket to go to the Houston Rodeo.

I’d love to go to an event like the Houston Rodeo! The boys and I would totally get into the bull-riding and everyone else would enjoy the music and rides. Looking at last year’s Houston Rodeo Tickets schedule, I see that some of Country’s favorite acts played. If we win the lottery, maybe I can get Houston Rodeo concert tickets for all of us for next year’s she-bang.

Professional Bull Riding

horse houston rodeo bull riding Turns out a family friend rides bulls at the Houston Rodeo.

My son’s best friend since middle school turned out to be a professional bull rider. You’d have never thunk it, because Corey was an introvert when he was a kid. But let me tell you, when I saw him the first time, at the Houston Rodeo, riding that bull as if he were a part of the animal, I knew for certain that Corey would go far.

Seven Seconds

horse houston rodeo rider From a great post on rodeos.

With that said, we used to always go to the Houston Rodeo! The entertainers were amazing including Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Alabama, and C&C Music Factory! Plus, the Houston Rodeo also had a great lifestock show.

Kids In Hats

horses cowboy hat kid Click through for some fun pictures of a kid who loves his cowboy hat.

Here he is dressed as a cowboy. This is his newest passion. He had to dress up as a cowboy for school last Friday because being that it was the last day of the Houston Rodeo, they thought it would be fun for the kids to get all decked out in cowboy/girl gear. You have never seen a kid so proud of a cowboy getup as Patrick was. Actually, he refused to take off the cowboy hat, boots and belt for the entire day after school ended.

You Know Your In Houston When ...

horses houston rodeo chuck wagon Here's something you don't see every day.

You’re on your way to work one FEBRUARY morning and suddenly you’re trapped in a traffic jam caused by a chuck wagon and fifty horses - with riders - and you look around to see that everybody in the cars around you is wearing a cowboy hat. (time for the Rodeo)

Lynyrd Skynyrd

horse houston rodeo lynyrd skynyrd band Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Houston Rodeo:

Tonight is going to kick some ass. My sister and my friend Roberta and I are heading out to the Houston Rodeo to see - get this - Lynyrd Skynyrd! The All American icon of rock and roll, LYNYRD SKYNYRD!!! I was so excited to get tickets, even though they are nosebleed seats in the Reliant Stadium. I expect to see sixty year old men holding up lit Bic lighters and aging women throwing their panties toward the stage, but this is actually what lured me to see this particular concert. The performances by Hilary Duff and Alicia Keyes just didn't seem fun enough, and they probably didn't have as diverse a crowd as what I will see tonight. Roberta warned me that there would be "riff raff" at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert and that we may have to guard our camera cases. I like riff raff! They make things interesting. Another great thing about tonight will be that I can get drunk out of my mind. When I was given tickets to see Brooks & Dunn I had to be on my best behavior because my boss was sitting right there since it was a company suite. That didn't stop Roberta from throwing back ten beers and dancing the Boot Scootin' Boogie, but this is why I love Roberta so much. She's not afraid to do drunken dances in public.

Houston Rodeo On Saturday Night

Good times at the rodeo:

Saturday, we went to the Houston Rodeo. We parked downtown and took the Metro to Reliant Stadium, the Metro what an experience. First some weird guy tells us we can sit on his lap and then the guy in the chair behind him starts yelling at him. So we finally make it to the rodeo grounds and we walked around the carnival side. We ventured into the arts and crafts side only to be let down. Finally we made it into Reliant Stadium, very nice, we were able to get to our seats in time to see all of the Championship events. The end that we were sitting on was the side where the steer wrestling started so the bull riding was at the other end and could only really see what was happening on the big TV's. I still think the bull riding is the coolest thing to watch. Finally, the rodeo was over and Clint Black came out. Now talk about an entrance, riding out to the stage on a horse. That was 10 times better than Jewel's I need help walking in the dirt entrance to the San Antonio Rodeo 2 years ago. Clint Black put on a hell of a show, I definitely recomend seeing him. By the time we got back to Sam's car we were both pretty tired so of course we rented movies. We saw both Raising Helen (good) and Raise Your Voice (ehh), yes both movies had "raise" in the title and both had John Corbett in them, not intentional.

Somewhere In The Sun!

horses chesney performs I missed Chesney at the Houston Rodeo:

With a double-header full production kick-off in Green Bay on March 10-11 -- following a March 9th appearance at the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show where he shattered George Strait's attendance record last year -- Chesney's Somewhere In The Sun Tour is looking to be a worthy follow-up to last year's Guitars, Tiki Bars & A Whole Lot of Love Tour, which -- with its 1.2 million fans played to -- was outdrawn only by Prince's Musicology Tour.

More Fun Than Houston Rodeo?

horses houston rodeo I don't think I believe this:

There is civilized life in Houston. I went to lunch today with the American Constitution Society. I had great fun. Probably more fun than going to the Houston Rodeo.
